In 1985, NASA Astrophysicist and Optical Engineer Dr Mitch Ruda was working on a project for NASA when he has a simple idea: what if we used the coatings that protect satellites to shield our eyes from the sun? Dr Ruda uses the NASA-developed protective coatings that protect satellite portholes from space radiation on a pair of sunglasses to protect the eye. With this revolutionary finding, Revo is born.

In 1988, Astronaut Pete Conrad, the third man on the Moon, is featured in a Revo ad, cementing Revo as a cuttin-edge innovator in eyewear.

When Revo was founded in 1985, their pioneering Crystal Glass lens was celebrated for its flawless optics. In 2019 Revo brought it back, featuring an innovative new process that encapsulates their NASA lens technology within two layers of glass for unparalleled clarity and polarized protection.

2020 - In honour of Revo's 35th anniversary, Revo launched their first-ever foldable aviator, the Thirty-Five LTD, featuring a 100% lightweight titanium frame. Only 1000 individually-numbered framers were made. It sold out completely.
